My Migraine History

I’m a 39 years old woman, born and raised in Tijuana México.

I started with migraine at the age of 9, it got more intense at 15, and I get episodes about 3 or 4 times a week. I have been living with pain all my life (almost) and sometimes people around me don’t notice because I can look like I’m okay; my grandma (my father’s mother) used to have migraine, and I’m the only one in the family with this illness.

The People Around Me

My husband is very understanding with me, thank God we don’t have children, I think that will be a lot more struggling with my condition.

The Effect of Migraine on My Life

Sometimes I wake up and I already in pain, but I hope to work anyways. Here in Mexico it’s really difficult for a doctor to give disability to a person with migraine, but sometimes I have to skip work for me to get on my feet.

What I’ve Tried

I have tried ketorolac, tramamine, topiramate and they stop working with time. I use essential oils like mint, lavender, frankincense and they help a lot, I’m trying cannabis and the CBD oil and it looks like they are working!

How I Cope On Unbearable Days

I get in my room, I put oils on my forehead, and sometimes I put an ice mask or I put it on my head, and try to calm down until disappears.

How Migraine Buddy Helps Me

I’m new at this, just started and it’s good so far. I believe we, migraineurs must hold on to all possibilities of help!

Hold on, never stop seeking a better life!
